Virginia Water Art Society members were treated to a very entertaining evening with Mike Skidmore who produced an oil portrait using a very unusual method of first drawing the face then glazing over it with a dark glaze then with a rag removing some of the glaze to show varying tonal shapes depicting highlighted areas which produced a very effective image which he then began to work on with colour
