SWA Exhibition at Mall Galleries

25th-29th September

The Society of Women Artists is holding its 158th Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1 from Wednesday 25th to Sunday 29th September, open to the public from 10am to 5pm daily (1pm on Sunday). The exhibition will be opened officially on Wednesday 25th at 11am, by HRH Princess Michael of Kent, who will also present the awards – an invitation to this private view is attached.

SPECIAL FUNDRAISING EVENING

Tuesday, 24th September, 6.30-9.00pm (doors open 4pm)

The third SWA Young People's Art Initiative fundraising event to support and encourage young and emerging talent will be an evening of sketching, music and wine. Over 400 artworks by outstanding professional artists will be available with a special 5% discount on all sales at this evening's preview.

Tickets are £10 per person, bookable through Eventbrite, where you will also find more information about the event.

Our Favourite Art Works Virginia Water Art Society

Virginia Water Art Society members took part in "My Favourite "  bringing in their favourite piece of artwork sometimes it a painting they have done themselves or a painting they have bought often with stories of how or why the paintings became a favourite . 

It was a very social evening with cake and minced pies tea and coffee and we all enjoyed hearing about the stories behind the paintings.

50th ANNIVERSARY VIRGINIA WATER ART SOCIETY BOAT TRIP CELEBRATIONS

What wonderful weather we had today on the Thames celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Virginia Water Art Society members of the Society spent the afternoon cruising down the river towards Windsor where we all indulged in cream teas scones cakes and sandwiches.  Alan Mar provided and proposed a toast to the longevity of the Art Society and talked briefly about the founder member Pat Hare. The sun shone all day and everyone enjoyed the afternoon enormously. 

Our Thanks to Alan for organising the trip so brilliantly and providing the toast, also to Doug and his wife who between them made and decorated the cake.

The Winning Logo after all votes were counted was by Doug Coe the paint tube as below and will appear on your membership cards this year congratulations to Doug.


      

VIRGINIA WATER ART SOCIETY SUMMER EXHIBITION 14.6.14

Despite a very heavy down pore during the morning the members of the Virginia Water Art Society held their ground and sat out the mini storm we covered our paintings and crafts and waited for the rain to stop, which it eventually did and the sun came out making the afternoon very pleasant with the sun came the visitors and we had a very enjoyable afternoon lots of paintings and crafts were sold and it was well worth our efforts.
