 We enjoyed Jan Gaska's demonstration last night showing his technique with gouache in depicting a towpath scene near Marlow. Gouache isn't a medium we use often, so it was interesting to see
how it goes on. Many thanks to Jan for an intriguing evening

Demonstration by Frank Walters Watercolour 3rd July 2024

 On Wednesday evening we enjoyed a demonstration by Frank Walters in which he showed a variety of tricks and techniques using watercolour, using not one but two pictures to do so, in order to allow for all-important drying time.

 

Max Hale Workshop 6-4-24 Painting with palette knife in oil or acrylic

 

Interesting learning about using a painting knife with either acrylics or oils from Max Hale at the workshop with Max Hale on Saturday. Spending the day with a professional artist is one of the best ways to learn having individual attention throughout the day, sharing the learning experience with other artists of varying abilities in such a lovely setting gives much enjoyment and improves the skills

Demonstration by Paul Oakley Landscape in oil 3.4.24

 Paul Oakley's demonstration last night proved very popular and San Gimingiano's towers emerged from the landscape as if by magic! Thank you so much, Paul!

Demonstration by Roger Dellar 7/2/24

We enjoyed a very instructive and memorable demonstration from Roger Dellar last night, with Doug nobly posing yet again as artist's model. Rodney Kingston and Kim Page were in the audience, lovely to have them with us too, and we had a record turn-out (including three new members). Huge thank you to Doug, and to everyone who helped make this a great evening for the society, and of course to Roger himself.
