Robin Mackervoy 7.4.10 still life in oils

Robin Mackervoy came to demonstrate still life at Virginia Water Art Society today and was warmly welcomed by the Society members and visitors who came to see his demonstration he was using oils and was able to give us lots of information tips about using oils , unfortunately time ran out before he had finished the painting but we thoroughly enjoyed his demonstration

Encaustic Wax

After the last demonstration by Phil Madley some of the painters decided to get together and try out encaustic wax painting and here are our first efforts.

Today we had a most unusual demonstration by Phil Madley using encaustic wax melting the wax with a small iron and spreading it onto special card also using a paint stripper to spread the melted wax which produced the most wonderful pattens all members of the audience were enthralled

Ron Ripley Demonstration 3.2.10

This evening Ron Ripley once again stepped into the breach and saved the day our advertised demonstrator John Harrison had a mechanical failure of his car on the way to Virginia Water and phoned Pam at the last minute to say he would not be able to make the demonstration so Ron stood in for him and produced a very beautiful watercolour for our entertainment
