Virginia Water Art Societies  monthly demonstrator for April was

 Mick McNicholas 

We were treated to a portrait demonstration using charcoal. Mick shared with the group his methods and approach to the task, we were very lucky to have a live model and Mick demonstrated how he uses the charcoal in a blocking in method concentrating on the light and dark areas first and gradually refining the details toward the end of the demonstration.  We really enjoyed the demonstration Thank you Mick

Edwin Cripps Demonstration 7th March 2018

Edwin Cripps came to Virginia Water Art Society tonight at very short notice as our advertised demonstrator was unable to come.  We were the lucky ones Edwin is always welcome at VWAS and always appreciated he even agreed to do a still life painting as that was what was advertised and in his usual Quirky way he couldn't resist putting his own stamp on it at the the last minute he brought the still life to life by adding a little mouse.  Edwin is always such a generous Artist and at the end of the evening he raffled the painting but with the proviso that the monies were given to VWAS and we are very grateful Thank you Edwin

Our Favourite Art Works Virginia Water Art Society

Virginia Water Art Society members took part in "My Favourite "  bringing in their favourite piece of artwork sometimes it a painting they have done themselves or a painting they have bought often with stories of how or why the paintings became a favourite . 

It was a very social evening with cake and minced pies tea and coffee and we all enjoyed hearing about the stories behind the paintings.
