The Society of Women Artist Exhibition at The Mall Galleries 27th June 2012

Virginia Water Art Society members took a mini bus trip to the Mall Galleries for the Private Viewing of the work by the Society of Women Artist 151st Exhibition which was opened by HRH Princess Michael of Kent Patron of the Society of Women Artists. The exhibition was superb with some amazing work One of Virginia Water Art Society members Wendy Trinder BSc SWA FSBA was exhibiting one of her paintings "Ted Resting" Wendy is pictured above with her painting.  Our group thoroughly enjoyed our day out at the Gallery which provided us with some inspiration for future reference.

Ewa Czarneicka Demonstration in oils 6.6.12

Ewa Czarneicka came to demonstrate a street scene in oils with figures carrying umbrellas the reflections in the standing water on the pavement were so beautiful considering Ewa had to work wet upon wet oil she managed to show us exactly what she was trying to achieve we were all very appreciative of her demonstration and enjoyed the evening very much

Ali Cockrean Workshop 12.5.12

Virginia Water Art Society members plus a few from other Societies spent the day with Ali Cockrean in a workshop designed to introduce us to abstract painting.  Using acrylics Ali took us through the stages of producing abstract paintings and let us in on one or two of the secrets such as how to approach an abstract, what makes a good abstract, and how to develop and view abstract paintings.  We thoroughly enjoyed the day and came away with a new understanding of the process.
