It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing away of Hugh Sears who died on Friday 27
th August.Hugh had been very ill for some time and Rosa had been his full time care
throughout his illness, he together with his wife Rosa have been members of Virginia Water Art Society for many years. Hugh was a very accomplished artist and
extremely well liked for his gently and kind manner. As a tribute to Hugh we have published below a selection of his paintings for you to enjoy. A service will be held on Friday 10
th September to say goodbye to a very talented and much thought of member of our Society.
Ali Cockrean took the place of our advertised Demonstrator Mike Skidmoreand our audience was certainly entertained and inspired by some of Ali's methods of painting with acrylics some of the techniques and tools she used were very suprising and inovative producing some wonderful effects which I am sure will be attempted by some of our members and we look forward to seeing some of there efforts in future exhibitions.
