Virginia Water Art Society Winter Arts & Crafts Exhibition 27 & 28 Nov 2010

Many visitors came to the Community Hall in Virginia Water this Saturday & Sunday 27 & 28 November and showed their support and appreciation of the Artists and their work.  On display wer original paintings in all mediums 169 in  all and the standard of work was extremely high this year.

 

 The winner of the favourite painting as voted for by the public was Ian Reilly pictured below with his painting Autum Shades and being presented with the Oak Bowl which wiil be engraved with his name and be kept by him until next years exhibition.

 Th Winner of the Edwin Cripps Raffle painting was Shan Turner who is an Artist herself and a member of several local Art Societies

 Also on display were photographs on canvas by Jill Swainson the photographs are her own original composition which she has orinted on canvas

 Also on display were a slection of hand made Jewwelery by Anne Keen

Ali Cockrean Demonstration working with Acrylics 3.11.10

Ali Cockrean took the place of our advertised Demonstrator Mike Skidmoreand our audience was certainly entertained and inspired by some of Ali's methods of painting with acrylics some of the techniques and tools she used were very suprising and inovative producing some wonderful effects which I am sure will be attempted by some of our members and we look forward to seeing some of there efforts in future exhibitions.
